The Stronger En Pointe Method is a 6 week dance-specific strength training and injury prevention program designed by Dance Physical Therapist, Dr. Julieann Berg, PT, DPT for dancers of all ages and genres.

​Whether you're getting your first pair of pointe this year, recently started dancing in heels, or have been in the studio for decades, this program is for you!

Gaining strength outside of the studio will set you apart as a strong, healthy, and magnetic dancer on stage!

After years of treating dancers in the clinic as a physical therapist, I noticed patterns in muscle weakness, dance technique faults, and coordination issues. These issues would lead to injuries at the height of the dance season or during show weeks.

I designed this program with preparedness and prevention in mind for dancers who are tired of being held back by nagging pain and injury, but don't know where to start with getting stronger and preventing injury.

The dance world is decades behind the exercise science and strength and conditioning world in terms of their training principles and it's time to change that.

Strength training will improve your jumps, extensions, endurance, posture, and foot placement, all while preserving dance aesthetics and helping to keep injuries at bay.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to start this program?

I recommend starting this program at the beginning of your season or between rehearsal/performance seasons.

The program is self-paced over the course of the 6 weeks. I recommend scheduling one of your two coaching calls with me before you start so we can review scheduling and logistics with your class and rehearsal schedule

Who is the ideal person for The Stronger En Pointe Method?

This program is for you if you have a history of injury that has gotten between you and your dance goals but are not actively injured. This program is also for you if you've heard about the benefits of strength training for dancers but have no clue where to start. Pilates and PBT may be all you know, but that's about to change. Dancers of all ages and genres will benefit from this dance-specific training and injury prevention education.

If you are dealing with an active injury, you may benefit from in person physical therapy treatment. This program would be a good adjunct in the later stages of rehab.

Do I need any equipment?

Yes! All exercises can be completed with therabands, an exercise ball, and a pair dumbbells. I recommend having a lighter (5-10 pounds) and a heavier set of dumbbells (10-20 pounds).
